Lessons I Wish I Knew: Embracing Growth, Self-Care, and Connection by Trina Kennedy

Trina Kennedy

I wish someone had told me that growth comes from embracing imperfection and failure, not avoiding them. Early in my career, I felt pressure to have all the answers and feared making mistakes. Over time, I learned that mistakes are opportunities to learn, evolve, and build resilience. I also wish I had been told to prioritize self-care and boundaries, understanding that taking care of myself enables me to support others more effectively. Lastly, I wish someone had emphasized the importance of connection—seeking mentors, building relationships, and fostering collaboration are just as vital as the technical skills we bring to our work.
