What’s your story?
My name is Albin Lix, I am a French Digital entrepreneur in Hong Kong.
After 9 years of successful work in e-commerce project management for several big brands, an e-marketing agency and a digital consulting firm, I decided to move to Hong Kong to launch my own Social Media agency which focuses on the 3 faces of Social Media: Strategy, CRM and Influence & Key opinion leaders.
What excites you most about your industry?
The first and most important skill to possess when working in Social media is curiosity.
Social Media is evolving every day through innovative technologies, new functions, and new clients’ problematics to solve. We are continuously learning that’s why this industry is so exciting and why it requires so much passion to excel.
One of my favorite quotes is:
“Reactivity and Agility are strategic in our fast paced economy that cannot allow passiveness.”
What’s your connection to Asia?
We are currently managing our Company from Hong Kong mainly for Hong Kong market.
For Facebook and Instagram, we are using a Social Media platforms coming from Europe and the US.
For Wechat, we are using a Social Media platform coming from China.

Favourite city in Asia for business and why?
Hong Kong is my favourite city in Asia. It is the perfect hub to drive relevant Social Media strategies in the Asia Pacific, where the Social Media and Digital eco-system are similar to the US. It has a perfect location to drive initiatives across south east asian markets, such as Indonesia, the Philippines,Thailand, China where we are also already working on top of Hong Kong.
What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
I was once told that the worse situation for a young person is earning too much money in a boring job.
Another very good basic advice is also: Listen more talk less!
Who inspires you?
Roland Beaumanoir is a French entrepreneur who created and developed a Fashion retail company in Europe and China with more than 2,000 stores and 6 differents brands.
This family company built its success on passion, business spirit and proximity.
Roland Beaumanoir is a key influence and a mentor for me since many years.
What have you just learnt recently that blew you away?
I recently heard about
OkHi is a Nairobi based company that wants to solve the lack of physical address system in Kenya and beyond. OkHi created an address book that uses geolocation and photos in places where numbered street addresses don’t exist. Coupled with existing mobile payment solutions, everyone in the world is now able to buy online without any bank account and any post address. It’s unbelievable.
If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
Many things however mistakes are part of entrepreneurship. If there are no mistakes there is no risk.
So I don’t regret anything.
How do you unwind?
I still have to find a way to unwind efficiently. 🙂
I will have a short working break as soon as I have the opportunity.
Favourite Asian destination for relaxation? Why?
I love to travel in Indonesia. Through several thousand islands, Indonesia is my favorite destination to see different landscapes and pure lifestyle.
I especially love to stay in Gili Gede near Lombok Island, without any electricity this place allows me to cut off from the intensity of HK.
