Ashley Medeiros – It’s you by A.M

Ashley Medeiros

Bruising experiences gave Ashley Medeiros the experience to help others on their journeys.

What’s your story?

I grew up navigating the “less fortunate” category, being bullied in school while helping care for my sick father. This sparked a mission forged in survival, not a boardroom. After hitting rock bottom with a job loss and breakup, I literally had to Google how to love myself. I did the raw inner work to unlearn the labels others placed on me and reclaim my worth. Now, I’m intentionally pivoting to focus on workshops for schools and non-profits. I’m turning my lived experience into a judgment-free roadmap, teaching others the tangible skills of resilience I had to build alone.

What excites you most about your industry?

What excites me most about this pivot is the opportunity to move from simply sharing a message to actively teaching the tools for survival. I am currently pouring my heart into developing these workshops specifically to be present in schools and non-profits—the very places where support is needed most. I’m energized by the chance to walk back into the hallways where I once felt small and empower others to reclaim their worth. It’s about turning my lived experience into a tangible roadmap, creating a lasting impact by proving that resilience is a skill we can build together.

What drives you in your career to push beyond what other people consider normal?

What drives me in my career to push beyond what other people consider normal is being able to remind people there are selfless, kind individuals who still exist in this world.

What have been the most useful skills you have learnt and applied in your journey?

The most useful skills I have learnt and applied in my journey have been my people skills and being a compassionate person has been instrumental to my business. No matter how my life changes, I am able to remain humble and sympathize with people and what life throws.

What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?

Not business related.. but my late dad once told me: to let a man be a man, it’s short but very important for people who are dating to always remember. We teach people how to treat us, especially in the beginning of relationships!

Who inspires you?

My grandmother! She was hardworking, loving strong in so many ways! She was old fashion and very witty and inspirational. She had 13 children, was a widow at a very young age and managed to raise such amazing humans!

What have you learnt recently that blew you away?

I have learnt recently that sometimes it’s better to say less in some situations… I’ve learnt it’s best to read the room.

If you had your time again, what would you do differently?

I’d take school more seriously and save dating for my 30’s!

How do you unwind?

I unwind by going on a peaceful walk by the water and spending time alongside people who make me smile.

What is a major mindset change, belief shift or ‘ah ha’ moment that you’ve experienced in relation to your career?

A major mindset change, belief shift or ‘ah ha’ moment that I’ve experienced in relation to my career was when I realized I was making a difference in communities and that solely happened when I poured within and was myself. It was like everything just aligned.

Everyone in business should read this book:

A self help book! I never really read business books, my ultimate goal was to be okay within.

Shameless plug for your business or career:

What sets this business apart is it wasn’t built in a boardroom—it was built in the trenches of life. You aren’t getting a theoretical lecture; you’re getting a roadmap from someone who literally had to Google how to love themselves. Because I grew up in the communities I serve, I bring lived experience and integrity that corporate programs can’t touch. We’ve proven our impact through years of action, from donating 100% of proceeds to hand-delivering aid. People reach out because we offer a vulnerable, judgment-free bridge between physical self-expression and the deep, life-changing work of building true resilience.
