Santanu Sengupta

Santanu Sengupta is an accomplished senior Global Banking executive, with three decades of leadership experience shaping business growth, governance, risk management, strategy and transformation at leading international banks. As former Managing Director & APAC South Head at Wells Fargo Bank, Singapore, he led diverse businesses and cross-border teams across 15 countries, delivering strong P&L outcomes, while navigating complex risks and regulatory compliance. Prior to Wells Fargo, he held senior leadership roles at Credit Agricole CIB, HSBC, and ABN AMRO Bank. Notably, he helped establish India’s first-ever Global Capability Centre for ABN AMRO in 1999, a pioneering move in the industry. Santanu currently serves as Global Advisory Board Member & partners with startup founders in tech enabled businesses. He brings contemporary board level oversight in AI governance, Cyber resilience, ESG stewardship and Digital Risks to his rich and diversified leadership experience across Finance, Banking, Capital Markets, Enterprise Risk Management, Global Payments & Trade and Talent& Culture Stewardship. Santanu is an MBA from Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) Delhi, and an Economics Honors graduate from Delhi University. He is also a Ministry of Corporate Affairs (IICA) and KPMG Certified Board Director and esteemed Fellow of Institute of Directors (IOD), India, Certified ESG Professional by IOD and an ICF-accredited Executive & Leadership Coach. Santanu is widely recognized for his thought leadership on Responsible Innovation, AI in Finance, ESG & Sustainability, Leadership and Risk Strategy & regularly contributes to leading publications.
