“The Global Fund has helped save 72 million lives since 2002. What an achievement. It’s exceedingly rare for an organization to work this well, this consistently, for this long.”

Gates points to The Global Fund’s remarkable track record since its inception in 2002. The organization’s consistent effectiveness over more than two decades in combating major infectious diseases like HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria has resulted in tens of millions of lives saved.
