Drew Stevens athletics background has informed his business life in that he aspires to exceed the goals he sets.
What’s your story?
I work with business owners and senior leaders of small to medium size businesses that struggle and transform them into competitive proof, revenue generating organizations.
What excites you most about your industry?
There are so many small to midsize businesses around the globe. What excites me is educating individuals to realize what their full potential is and how much they can grow their organizations.
What drives you in business to push beyond what other people consider normal?
I have always had the tenacity to do more and be more. I believe a large measure of that stems from my athletic background. I create goals and I don’t believe in just meeting them but as I did as an athlete always exceeding them!
What have been the most useful skills you have learnt and applied in your journey?
Perhaps the three most useful skills that I’ve always garnered innately is the tremendous knack of listening. It is amazing when you begin to ask questions and truly listen what others will tell you. Secondly, is my innate skill for sales and marketing simply because as an organizational advisor I’m constantly marketing my skills to other organizations. Third, is the capability to quickly build long-term relationships. Building business is not a transaction but more crucially about creating relationships for future success.
What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
Look at yourself in the mirror and realize what God has created. Never doubt yourself and constantly move forward to what your destiny is.
Who inspires you?
My grandmother and track coaches always helped me to realize my true gifts and potential. They keep me striving for success.
What have you learnt recently that blew you away? N/A
If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
Market my business differently. I have learned the ideology of multiple streams of income and I wished I had created this early on.
How do you unwind?
Reading a good book, I love non fiction and taking quiet walks in the woods – no cell phone!
What is a major mindset change, belief shift or ‘ah ha’ moment that you’ve experienced in relation to your business?
I can create like no other. It is amazing how quickly I have developed books, webinars and white papers. It takes me less than 10 days to write a 250 page book and less than 30 minutes to develop a powerpoint for a one hour webinar.
Everyone in business should read this book:
How to Win Friends and Influence People – Dale Carnegie, The Bible.
Shameless plug for your business:
I actually have two websites. For my consulting business it is www.drew-stevens.com and for my financial advisory and insurance it is www.drew-stevens.net.
I also have books and audio courses on both sites.
