Macy Schuchart has turned her belief in the power of herbs into a business providing natural supplements.
What’s your story?
I am Macy Schuchart, a 25 year old female entrepreneur. Solo Founder and Owner of Ancient Bliss, an herbal supplement company backed by indigenous wisdom and health science. My goal is to build a supplement company people can trust and bring the healing power of herbs that our ancestors used for centuries back to our modern busy society.
What excites you most about your industry?
What excites me the most is the history and deep indigenous wisdom and connection with herbs that humans have. Every herb has a role to play in the human body and in treating/healing an ailment or disease.
It’s exciting because there is always something new to learn and it is rewarding to help others heal along the way.
What drives you in business to push beyond what other people consider normal?
My Passion + my Discipline.
Most of my goals are created out of inspiration, and the discipline I implement helps me to get them complete (most of the time..) Because I am so passionate about Ancient Bliss, it is on my mind 24/7 and I am constantly working to improve it/make it better.
I also put everything on the line (quit my prior job and put all my money into it) so I gave myself no option but to succeed. I think that helps me a lot with the Discipline part, knowing failure can’t be an option.
What have been the most useful skills you have learnt and applied in your journey?
The most useful skill I have learned is how to outsource. I really don’t know much about starting a business (no past experience or education in it) but learning to find people to do different tasks for me is the reason it is successful. I think it would be impossible to learn everything, so being able to find people to write an article for me, design my logo, create social media posts, etc has been super helpful.
Also visualization & manifestation. It takes the pressure off of having to try to figure everything out.
What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
“If you can see it you can be it”
Basically realizing that we can achieve anything we want if we choose to believe in ourselves and go for it. It puts the power back on us, which can be scary but it is the most empowering thing to know we are in control of our own reality. Because if we are in control of it, we can make it be anything we want it to be. We are out here literally painting the story of our life on a canvas and that is so exciting, liberating and beautiful to me!
Who inspires you?
Natural Healers and Natural Doctors who risk their lives to spread Truth have really inspired me. Indigenous people hold a lot of wisdom and have been a huge inspiration for me to bring healing herbs back to the modern busy day society.
Esther Abraham Hicks is also one of my biggest role models, as she was able to help me understand the power of Manifestation which has played a huge role in my life.
What have you learnt recently that blew you away?
That most pharmaceuticals are derived from herbs. In fact, I think I remember reading that 70% of the new drugs come from Mother Nature. Since there is little profit in what can be grown freely, it is interesting to see new drugs monetized and priced at high prices. I think having this realization made me want to bring more accessible and affordable healthcare to people through herbs.
If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
As cliche as it sounds, I wouldn’t do anything differently. I believe every little thing I did (mistake or not) got me to where I am now. I believe everything I went through was a part of my journey of becoming, and it taught me the lesson or gave me the wisdom I needed to get to where I am today.
How do you unwind?
Hot yoga is my #1 go to for unwinding. Sweat, really. Exercise helps me unwind unlike anything else! I also love to grocery shop (it clears my head instantly since i’m focusing on what to buy) and cook. There is something about getting into a flow state with chopping vegetables that is ultra relaxing. I also love to listen to relaxing music and take a hot bubble bath, with a glass of wine and a fantasy book. Happy heartfelt movies are also always a go-to.
What is a major mindset change, belief shift or ‘ah ha’ moment that you’ve experienced in relation to your business?
You can’t control the outcome, you can only control your reaction to it. I always read this one in self-help books, but it was a lot harder for me to implement it when it came to the rollercoaster of entrepreneurship. There are a lot of things that go wrong, and when you have everything put into your business it can be really scary. I realized stressing literally changes nothing, and things usually tend to get better. My “aha” moment came when I realized I could turn off my feelings of “doom” and just enjoy riding out the wave.
Everyone in business should read this book:
This one is hard, as there are so many books that shaped the way I think and I can attribute my success in business to. But one that comes to mind is The Strangest Secret – Earl Nightingale.
This book is a short 40 page read (it actually used to be a radio talk in the 1950’s) It taught me how everything starts in my mind’s eye, and how you can be whatever you want to be or create anything if you can just visualize it first. This is a superpower we all have that shouldn’t be taken lightly!
Shameless plug for your business:
We encourage others to “Take Care of their Temple” and one of the best ways to do this is through incorporating healing herbs into your daily routine.
