Nic Otuoze’s enthusiasm for technology inspired him to create a digital billboard to enable others to promote themselves.
What’s your story?
I’m an entrepreneur who has spent years building technology, compliance, and public-interest projects. Today I’m focused on theonebilliondollarbillboard.com, a platform built on the belief that visibility is one of the most valuable assets in the digital economy.
What excites you most about your industry?
The fact that attention has become a global currency. For the first time, individuals can build brands, communities, and businesses that reach millions without traditional gatekeepers.

What drives you in your career to push beyond what other people consider normal?
I enjoy creating things that challenge conventional thinking. Many transformative ideas seem unrealistic at first, but innovation happens when people are willing to pursue opportunities others overlook.
What have been the most useful skills you have learnt and applied in your journey?
Resilience, communication, problem-solving, and the ability to keep learning. Building businesses requires adapting quickly while staying focused on a long-term vision.
What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
Don’t wait for permission to build something meaningful. Start where you are, learn as you go, and let results speak louder than opinions.
Who inspires you?
Steve Jobs for his focus on simplicity, and everyday entrepreneurs who persist despite limited resources.
What have you learnt recently that blew you away?
How quickly artificial intelligence is changing the way people create, communicate, and build businesses. The pace of innovation is faster than most people realize.
If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
I would start bigger, trust my instincts earlier, and spend less time worrying about what critics thought of ambitious ideas.
How do you unwind?
I enjoy reading, researching emerging technologies, playing volley ball, tennis and badminton with friends, and taking long walks to think through ideas and opportunities.
What is a major mindset change, belief shift or ‘ah ha’ moment that you’ve experienced in relation to your career?
Realizing that attention is an asset. People invest in property, stocks, and businesses, but visibility and discoverability have become equally valuable in the digital age.
Everyone in business should read this book:
The Lean Startup, Eric Reis. It teaches the importance of testing ideas quickly, learning from feedback, and building products people actually want. Fermat’s Last Theory, it shows that you can achieve anything even though the world is stacked against you, all it takes it time.

Shameless plug for your business or career:
The vision behind theonebilliondollarbillboard.com is simple: create the world’s most valuable digital billboard where individuals, businesses, and brands can secure a permanent place in internet history.
