What’s your story?

I started working at age 8 in the market, age 14, I was sent to Bangladesh, where witnessing poverty inspired my mission to help the needy. After returning at 17 and facing homelessness, I built resilience and vowed to make a difference.

I launched an estate agency at 24, building a substantial property portfolio.

In 2018, I founded an e-commerce brand, reaching 7 figures in 18 months, and sold it.

Now, I help businesses with growth, and ESG funding and serve as a board advisor at Station Hill Capital.

My journey underscores the power of resilience and a mission-driven life.

What drives you in your career to push beyond what other people consider normal?

What drives me in my career is a passion for continuous improvement and a commitment to making a real difference.

I love pushing boundaries and finding innovative solutions that exceed expectations, which keeps me motivated and excited about my work every day.

What have been the most useful skills you have learnt and applied in your journey?

Being patient and having faith have been incredibly useful skills I’ve picked up. They’ve helped me navigate challenges and stay focused on my goals.

Additionally, effective communication and strategic thinking have been crucial in driving success throughout my journey.

What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?

I’ve received lots of great advice on my journey, but the best piece has been to set clear, measurable, and achievable goals for your business.

Additionally, staying organized and being willing to take risks have been invaluable.

Who inspires you?

One person who truly inspires me is Shahid Khan. Emerging from poverty and homelessness, Khan’s journey is a testament to resilience and determination. After immigrating to the United States, he worked multiple jobs to support himself through college. Despite financial struggles, he founded Bumper Works, a successful automotive manufacturing company. Khan’s business acumen led to the acquisition of Flex-N-Gate, a major automotive supplier. Today, as the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars football team and the Fulham Football Club, Khan’s story of going from homelessness to billionaire exemplifies overcoming adversity and achieving remarkable success, inspiring me on the way.

What have you learnt recently that blew you away?

One thing that I learnt recently about AI that blew my mind is how it can write stories and poems just like humans do. Imagine this: instead of a boring old computer spitting out random words, AI can craft cool stories, write awesome poetry, and even chat with you like a real person! It’s like having a super-smart friend who’s also a whiz at writing. This changed how I see AI – it’s not just about robots and numbers anymore; it’s about creativity and imagination, and I can’t wait to see what else it can do in the future!

If you had your time again, what would you do differently?

If I had the chance to do it again, there are a few things I’d do differently.

First off, I’d start investing in personal development sooner.

I’ve come to realize the incredible value of continuous learning and self-improvement, and I wish I had prioritized that aspect of my life earlier on.

Additionally, I’d be more inclined to take risks and embrace opportunities that come my way. Fear of failure held me back at times, but looking back, I see that taking calculated risks often leads to growth and new opportunities. So, if given another shot, I’d seize those chances.

How do you unwind?

When it’s time to unwind, I find solace in activities like meditation and spending quality time with my family and loved ones.

Meditation helps me clear my mind and find inner peace while being with my family and friends brings me joy and a sense of connection.

Whether it’s enjoying a meal together, going for a walk, or simply having a heartfelt conversation, these moments recharge my spirit and leave me feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

What is a major mindset change, belief shift or ‘ah ha’ moment that you’ve experienced in relation to your career?

One big “ah-ha” moment I had in my career was when I realized that I was in control of my success. Instead of waiting around for things to happen or blaming others for setbacks,

I understood that I have the power to shape my future. This means taking charge of my goals, making smart decisions, and not being afraid to take risks. It’s like realizing that I’m the captain of my ship, and it’s up to me to navigate it to where I want to go. This mindset shift has given me a lot more confidence.

Everyone in business should read this book:

“Psycho-Cybernetics” by Maxwell Maltz this is my favorite book which explores how our self-image influences our behaviour and outcomes in life.

Maltz reveals practical techniques for reprogramming our self-image to align with our goals, empowering readers to overcome self-limiting beliefs and achieve success.

This timeless classic offers valuable insights into personal development and the power of the mind.
