What’s your story?
When working as a business professional in corporate management and commercial sales, I was initially challenged to create new provisions that would grant me an opportunity to capitalize upon my talent that wasn’t publicly recognized to date. Sasha Talks was conceptualized so I could apply my spiritual counseling abilities alongside my business acumen. The platform has evolved since it’s inception which serves as an entertainment and educational stage for audiences seeking positive growth in the realm of self-development, professional develop, spirituality and entrepreneurship. Audiences are encouraged to bring an open mind and heart to nurture learning.
What excites you most about your industry?
There is someone for everyone to serve those in need. It comes down to finding the right personality, work chemistry and mindset to collaborate with individuals and entities that can benefit from your expertise. There are many ways to actualize goals, the teacher appears when the student is ready. Sometimes when the student is ready, they will seek out the source to guide them through their next professional and personal ascension. I ask people to set higher goals for themselves, stop playing it safe in the game of life. Don’t complain. Work hard and go earn it.
What drives you in business to push beyond what other people consider normal?
People in society are conditioned to task yet expect the rewards of achievers. Achievers are a special creed because they live a lifestyle and inhabit of mindset of not settling, always finding ways to practice their craft AND they know how to fight their battles in life. As an ambitious person, I knew from a young age that I’d have to become comfortable with my company, learn to speak up and not be afraid of ticking people off because I don’t fit their perceived mold of what I should be. Be true to yourself while respecting life and it’s creations.
What have been the most useful skills you have learnt and applied in your journey?
One of my mentors from the age of 12 had taught me that people are going to come and go in life. There’s no need to ask people to stay or leave. Life has an organic way of clearing your path when you’re ready to graduate to the next chapter whether it comes to emotional maturity, professional development, matters of the heart and nurturing your relationship with earned resources. Communication is a tool that I’ve had to learn to apply better because speaking up is the only way to make your presence and your principles known to excel in life.
What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
Remain true to yourself. The worse thing that can happen to a person is they look in the mirror and they no longer recognize what is staring back at them. Too often people result compromising who they are for short lived successes. They craft a facade that eventually becomes a cross too heavy to carry down the road. I’d rather engage people who are aware of my minor faults rather than those perceiving me to be a pristine persona. I’m human. I believe I bring many virtues to the table. I’m not perfect, I’m a work in progress.
Who inspires you?
My ultimate life coach, my mother. She’s a resilient soul who’s also an intuitive that has guided me well throughout my life journey. I do my best to not complain. I’m the ‘cup half full’ type of personality. Do your best today, accept what is within your control and let go of the rest. Easier said than done. I believe my relationship with life has matured as my relationship with myself has deepened through nurturing faith. When we focus on our own healing and growth, the results are reflected in our environment and how the universe speaks to us.
What have you learnt recently that blew you away?
It was more of a realization that majority of the self development work and experiments that I’ve engaged in during the past several years have allowed me to transition and navigate through this year of global change. This has provided me an opportunity to connect with audiences facing sensitive circumstances that can start making small changes today to manifest their goals regardless of the health and economic climate.
If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
I wouldn’t change anything from the past because I had mindfully made a decision to pace my initial progress with Sasha Talks. The platform was developed in baby steps while growing from lessons learned before an audience. A good portion of the platform was nurtured through being of service catering to various audiences while implementing new skill sets. I probably would have instituted stricter measures of engagement early on if I had to do it again. People have to give a little to take a little. My generosity still continues yet is invested in purposeful forms.
How do you unwind?
I invest quality time with my family and friends. As an avid advocate of health and fitness, I do my best to spend time out in nature to strengthen my higher self. As a foodie, lately I love experimenting with new recipes that can be used to create potluck meals serving groups of people. I believe in simplicity…I appreciate good people, good food and good music.
What is a major mindset change, belief shift or ‘ah ha’ moment that you’ve experienced in relation to your business?
I’ve realized the inception of Sasha Talks and its evolution has served as a form of therapy for myself by introducing me to all ‘the walks of life’ that exist from different lifestyles to beliefs. Creating a corner where I’ve had the privilege to cross paths with different personalities has taught me what “living” truly really means. I’ve grown into a more self-aware, more compassionate and fearless individual. I realize that I’ve been the student all along in my creation. Sometimes it takes a couple tries for the heart and soul to crack open to simply start living.
Everyone in business should read this book:
12 Power Principles by Bob Proctor. Bob Proctor needs no introduction when it comes to serving as a timeless and priceless guru serving audiences worldwide. He has penned many other books that are a must read as well. It’s always nice to be reminded of acquiring good sense. I encourage curious minds to seek out his work. Be warned — you’ll need to do some work on yourself if you’re seeking miraculous results from life. Good luck 😉
