Swier Miedema – Owner

Swier Miedema

A belief that understanding why one does something is the catalyst for change is what drives Swier Miedema

What’s your story?

I have been an active Management Consultant and coach for over 25 years in change management, which culminated in me leading a team of approximately 45 management consultants. I got fed up with the process-oriented approach and decided to look for a different approach. Seven years ago, I ran into an insight that hit me like a freight train. With this, I can help them change their thinking so their behavior will change automatically. Away with behavior-oriented training and coaching!

What excites you most about your industry?

I can help anyone who wants to tap into his/her best possible performance without “doing” anything. I can help them understand how they constantly create their reality and subsequently create a better version. Anyone I can communicate with can learn this!

Most trainers or coaches teach you to “do” things differently. I don’t. I help you to understand.

What drives you in your career to push beyond what other people consider normal?

I want to reduce the suffering in the world. It is unnecessary and wastes time and effort. Besides, it results in suboptimal company performance. And I talk hundreds of millions here.

What have been the most useful skills you have learnt and applied in your journey?

Listening, caring, forgiving, loving.

What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?

You are not a piece of shit. You think you are.

Who inspires you?

Sydney Banks, Donald Hoffman, Rupert Spira, David Bohm.

What have you learnt recently that blew you away?

That we are all (well, most of us) looking in the wrong direction.

If you had your time again, what would you do differently?

Nothing, I’m quite happy now.

How do you unwind?

I don’t. I don’t need it.

What is a major mindset change, belief shift or ‘ah ha’ moment that you’ve experienced in relation to your career?

We have no clue as to how powerful we all are.
