Tricia Tee, Owner of Just Seifu

Tricia Tee is currently the only Seifu therapist and instructor in Singapore. She offers one-on-one therapeutic sessions and workshops.

What’s your story?
I’m Tricia, the only Seifu Therapist and Coach in Singapore. Seifu Therapy is a manual therapy founded in Nagoya, Japan intended to improve blood and oxygen circulation which helps in cell regeneration. I saw my late parents in pain, and regret that I was helpless then. We feel more pain when our loved ones hurt. Now that I know this skill, I like to contribute to people who have been living in pain, stroke and cancer patients, people with sleep issues and any other health challenges. Everyone deserves a second chance to have a better quality of life.

What excites you most about your industry?
There is progress in the wellness industry, most people are focusing on using machines or artificial intelligence. What makes Seifu Therapy unique? It is manual therapy involving human touch. Why is this important? I encourage organic and natural healing. Listen to your body for early signs or symptoms because your body is the best doctor. Once you have learned Seifu Therapy, you can also apply on your loved ones. We can do Seifu at any time and at any place – saving time and increase efficiency.

What’s your connection to Asia?
I was born in Malaysia and came to Singapore 10 years ago. Lots of opportunities to be explored here. I graduated as an accountant about 23 years ago and through a trade show in Hong Kong, I had the opportunity to explore this amazing natural healing, Seifu Therapy from Japan. I’m a certified therapist and coach and can now pursue my passion to help many people in their wellness and beauty.

Favorite city in Asia for business and why?
My favorite city is Singapore, it is where I live, a country which provides many opportunities to entrepreneurs, start-ups, encourages innovation and is open to changes. A country where the world has recognized as a safe to live and vibrant place. Another one is Japan, I love this country because of its fast pace development, learning from Japanese about their efficiency and culture is very enriching. This is the reason why Seifu Therapy has been accepted by the Japanese for more than 25 years.

What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
Change is constant, must always be ready for a change. I must change first in order to see the situation changing.

Who inspires you?
Dalai Lama, I love to read his quotes which help me to move forward each time I face some challenges. Eg, “Neither a space station nor an enlightened mind can be realized in a day”, “the way to change others’ mind is affection and not anger”

Mother Theresa, her quotes like “We, ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop”

What have you just learned recently that blew you away?
Practice, perseverance, and persistence. Every day is a new day because while we celebrate yesterday’s success, I cannot hold on to the success if I do not continue to create another success.

I can be too attached to the result of the client, and forget about the circumstance which is not within my control. Sometimes, I will even blame myself for not doing the best. I end up beating myself up and spend unnecessary time to pick myself up.

If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
I will just continue to learn, and each time I learn I will move forward as soon as possible. Keep asking myself: What is the reason I’m here? It is for others and not myself. When I start to focus on others, the picture is bigger and myself becomes smaller.

I need to practice in order to master in the art of doing everything well. Learning comes with practice. Keep doing and learn as you progress, learning is like peeling layers off an onion to get to the core, never stop learning.

How do you unwind?
I like to read books, listen to music, exercise, meet family and friends to catch up.

Favorite Asian destination for relaxation? Why?
I love Japan, it gives a different vibe when I traveled to different cities like Tokyo, Osaka, Hokkaido, Sapporo, Suzuka, and Nagoya. I love the onsen there. Nagoya is where I learned Seifu Therapy and this is not a city area, it is fascinating yet peaceful.
