Valentina Tudose has utilised her passion for communication to grow a business as a relationship coach and she continues to find new ways to communicate.
What’s your story?
I have always been passionate about communication, building relationships and understanding what makes people tick. I started with a degree in conference interpretation believing that helping people understand each other beyond the limitations of borders and ethnicity was a great service to humankind. Soon after, I shifted my focus into advertising as the creativity and exploration of new ways of engaging with others became more important than just passing on a message. Seven years ago I finally discovered that my true life purpose was to help people have more connected, positive relationships with each other and, most importantly, with themselves.
What excites you most about your industry?
I believe relationships are mirrors in which we discover new aspects of ourselves. Being a relationship coach is like being a guide shining a light on each person’s path of self-discovery and growth. I am passionate about helping my clients learn all those relationship skills there is no school for and offer shortcuts and positive alternatives to the painful ‘trial and error’ model we have all grown up with.
What drives you in business to push beyond what other people consider normal?
Passion. Each day, each session in which I see a person’s transformation fills me with energy and gratitude that I am able to assist someone to release pain, anger, anxiety and help them discover a new positive perspective for their life experience. I feel invested in my client’s personal journey and I make a commitment to always be there for them. Whether we are in session or in between, I support my clients on their journey and they know they can count on me.
What have been the most useful skills you have learnt and applied in your journey?
Learning to embrace and manage emotions has been a wonderful personal transformation and it is one of the things I am most passionate about teaching my clients. As a coach, I have to stay unbiased and focused on my client’s desired outcome. Being able to separate my own beliefs and values from what is most productive for my client and support them without judgement makes this work very impactful.
What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
I am so grateful to have had many wonderful mentors and teachers in my life but one of the things that has most influenced me was the idea that we have to take responsibility for everything in our life. Whenever I was facing a challenge, my mother would always quote the saying ‘You’ve made your bed, now you have to lie in it’ and I always took it as a reminder that my reality was a direct result of my choices and actions.
Who inspires you?
Too many people to list here but mostly those around me who are able to authentically show themselves to others without fearing judgement and criticism. I feel inspired daily by the courage it takes my clients to face their dark sides and push themselves past the discomfort of challenges and fears so they can do this work of finding the most empowered version of themselves.
What have you learnt recently that blew you away?
I used the time granted by the Great Pause to get my certification in Neuro-Linguistic Programming and it truly blew my mind. The deep understanding of how to decode the story behind the story that we all hide/reveal through our words and body language in every moment of our lives has been truly life changing.
If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
Actually, I believe everything happens for a great reason at the perfect time, so every choice I made was meant to bring me to where I am now. I also believe in every experience being a lesson, therefore nothing has been a mistake I would need to correct.
How do you unwind?
I don’t know that I really unwind 😂 because I am a doer. Even when I decide to take time off, I am still ‘doing stuff’. I like to go for long walks, I love boxing sessions with my trainer or to spend time with friends. I also love to cook and throw parties at my house since going out is so out of fashion these days.
What is a major mindset change, belief shift or ‘ah ha’ moment that you’ve experienced in relation to your business?
I love doing individual coaching because it allows me to share my knowledge and expertise but also teaches me things about myself. However, my life’s purpose is to help as many people as possible to transform their lives so I have now decided to make a shift into providing more self-study online programs. These programs incorporate all my experience over the past seven years to facilitate rapid and long-lasting shifts that clients can manage by themselves, saving them money and time.
Everyone in business should read this book:
The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks. It’s a wonderful guide to creating a new reality for yourself just by exploring your own limitations.
