Prioritization. Lots of folx muddy their strategic directions by overprioritizing competiting strategic objectives and by catering to the appeal of vanity metrics. This leads them to maxing out their team’s capacity, compromising operational efficiency, and conflating operational convenience for operational intelligence. The reason is, there is a more automatic gratification that we are publicly bestowed when we performatively achieve name recognition through vanity metrics. The thing is; what we need to focus on requires a level of discipline and discernment where we tactically hypertarget our core critical success factors and deprioritize all else with singled-minded focus and system-awareness.
