The Finance and M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions) industry has done a remarkable job of convincing the world, and themselves, that they know what is going to happen in the future. Whether it is Angels and Venture Capital gambling on startups, Wall Street predicting share prices, or Acquisitive companies thinking they can run companies better. This steadfast commitment to the delusion in spite of overwhelming evidence to the contrary is truly admirable. Few other industries could carry this off with a straight face.
