Xin Hong Transforms Women’s Lives

What’s your story?

I came from a broken family. My father was hot-tempered and my mum was a hard headed woman. Since my youth their relationship was awful. Domestic violence often happened in my family. Sometimes we were awakened by their fighting in the middle of night and it was quite scary. Eventually, my mother couldn’t take it anymore so she left home and filed for a divorce from my father.

But this did not precipitate the end of our nightmares, it was merely the beginning. My father’s siblings began to bully us and to spread lies and rumours to our neighbors that my mother cunningly dissolved her marriage for nefarious reasons. Everyone in the neighbourhood disliked her and she felt humiliated. Things were so stressful for everyone in the family that my sister ran away from home.

Having a dreadful childhood I felt helpless. I never had the love of caring parents, unlike my friends. I never received parental guidance about life. They didn’t encourage me or have plans for my future. I made every life decision by myself without parental support. I had the freedom to decide, but it was tough without guidance.

My story has enabled me to be very empathetic, especially toward women. This empathy sparked an idea and gave me a purpose in life, to give a helping hand to women who need support. And now, I am able to inspire women to shine, empower them to grow, and help them get the love they deserve.

What excites you most about your industry?

Being able to transform lives and build happy families is very rewarding. I see my clients transform their lives and turn self-doubt into confidence. It fills me with pride when they each work hard to overcome the emotional pain of a past relationship and embark on a fulfilling and intimate relationship with a good man. And when they have attained stability and happiness in their own lives, I enjoy seeing them give back to the world. It makes me feel so proud of their hard work which drives me to work harder to transform more lives.

What is your connection to Asia?
I was born and raised in Malaysia.

Favourite city in Asia for business and why?
No city in particular. We operate our business online. There are no boundaries to our outreach, only a vision to Spread Love To The World.

What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
“It’s not about you, but it is about them.” As a young coach, I always feel that I am not good enough. Sometimes I doubt my ability to deliver especially when my clients are much older than me. But my mentor told me, don’t focus on doubting yourself, instead, focus on what value you can provide. Your clients don’t care if you are confident, they care about attaining positive changes in their lives.

Who inspires you?

My mother. Although she had a traumatic relationship, she is still a very loving woman. She accepted my step brother and sister, and treated them as her own children. I admire her compassion and kindness. She always chooses to forgive people and not hold on to painful memories. She’s always my inspiration.

What have you just learnt recently that blew you away?

“The desire for more positive experience is itself a negative experience. And, paradoxically, the acceptance of one’s negative experience is itself a positive experience.” (p.9)This is a quote by Mark Manson, from his book, “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck.”

If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
I would instill in myself the habit of reading from a young age.

How do you unwind?
I like to play with the 10 year old abandoned dog my husband and I adopted. We named him Happy! Since we love dogs so much, we hope to adopt more in the coming years.

Journaling is another way for me to unwind. I love to document my thoughts and my feelings daily. When I look back, I love to see how much I have grown.

Favourite Asian destination for relaxation? Why?
Thailand. It is a land of smiles. I love the people and the food.

Everyone in business should read this book:
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life,” by Mark Manson. This book is not just for business but also for life. We have been told to stay positive in life, but this book gives a whole new perspective on happiness. It’s not just any motivational book, it is a book to see what reality is and how to act upon it.
