He points to Meta’s hiring practices as a prime example, noting their inclusion of live coding interviews where candidates build prototypes using tools like Claude Code and Figma Make.

Rekhi argues that this trend signifies a critical shift, making proficiency in prototyping indispensable for aspiring and current product managers.

Claude Code’s Ascent and the Rise of Agentic Platforms

Rekhi also notes the maturation and widespread adoption of true agentic platforms, with Claude Code emerging as a leader. He states that Claude Code has effectively crossed the chasm from experimental technology to an essential tool for PMs, winning on both capabilities and enterprise adoption.

Discovery: The New Bottleneck in Product Development

The accelerated pace of delivery, driven by AI, has, in Rekhi’s view, created a new constraint: customer discovery and design. As AI tools streamline the development process, the time-consuming and crucial tasks of understanding customer needs and designing effective solutions are becoming the limiting factors.

“AI has accelerated delivery so much that customer discovery and design are now the limiting factors in product development.”

However, Rekhi presents this as an opportunity, observing that a wave of new AI tools is emerging specifically to help PMs speed up their discovery work.

Platform-Agnostic Data Analysis and Evolving Presentation Tools

Further illustrating the pervasive impact of AI, Rekhi points out that data analysis is no longer tied to a single platform. He highlights his ability to analyze data using AI within Google Sheets, Excel, or directly against databases using Claude, emphasizing that the focus is shifting towards selecting the best tool for a specific task rather than debating AI’s capability to assist.

Similarly, Rekhi observes that AI capabilities in presentation tools have significantly improved. After a slow start, tools like Google Slides, PowerPoint, and specialized platforms such as Gamma now offer robust AI features that can meaningfully accelerate the creation of presentations for PMs.

Course Updates Reflect Real-World Changes

In light of these rapid advancements, Rekhi is updating his AI Productivity course. The revised curriculum will include specific skill-building exercises and detailed demonstrations covering all these newly critical capabilities. He invites interested individuals to join the next cohort, which begins on April 7th.
