In a recent LinkedIn post, Tobi Oluwole discusses how Facebook advertising helped a founder make lead generation less dependent on LinkedIn content performance. Oluwole presents the campaign as a case study in building a repeatable sales process, while emphasizing that the results came from a funnel developed around customer research.

“One of our founders just got a 13x ROAS from Facebooks ads.”

Building the funnel around sales conversations

According to Oluwole, the founder had not run ads before and had struggled with inconsistent leads from LinkedIn. In his account, the team began by researching sales calls with the founder’s best clients and using those findings to script ads. They then assembled a webinar funnel with landing pages, email flows and SMS automations, and revised the presentation using webinar decks the team considered successful.

Oluwole says the team also used an application to screen prospects before allowing qualified leads to book calls. He writes that the campaign launched in less than 10 days, illustrating how the ad creative and follow-up process were designed as connected parts of the sales operation.

“Because they only got leads if their content did well.”

Several examples, with different outcomes

Oluwole supports his argument with additional client examples, each reporting different spending and sales outcomes. One founder, he writes, spent $1,700 to generate 300 webinar signups and closed $23,000 in four days. Another spent $400, booked eight calls and signed four clients at $7,000 each. He also cites a $4,500 campaign associated with $60,000 in new revenue and a $1,200 spend that booked 15 sales calls.

These are figures reported in Oluwole’s post; it does not provide further details about attribution methods, campaign duration for every example or costs beyond ad spend. The figures therefore illustrate the results he highlights, rather than offering a full comparison of campaign profitability.

Reducing reliance on organic reach

Oluwole does not dismiss LinkedIn. He says he has long been a fan of the platform, while arguing that algorithm changes can slow a business when its lead flow relies heavily on content reach. In his view, paid advertising can offer greater consistency when paired with a tested funnel and a process for qualifying prospects.

“Scaling is math.”

The line captures Oluwole’s central point: growth, as he frames it, depends on connecting spending to measurable acquisition and revenue outcomes. His post presents paid ads as one way to make that relationship more predictable, with research, webinar design and lead screening doing much of the work behind the headline return.
