Peter Kim, CEO of NaOClean Asia

Peter Has Effective Solutions For Airborne Sanitation and Air Purification

What’s your story?
Before I decided to relocate to Singapore, my life was too hectic. I hardly had any downtime.

My career began as a journalist working for a Los Angeles based Korean newspaper. Following my stint as a journalist, I went on to explore many things. I became an author of 14 books focusing on enhancing business skills and the future of education. I sold out a million copies and taught at universities.

My final project before I moved to Singapore was organizing the Asian component of “Game Olympics” for the Mind Sports Olympiad in 1998, hosted by the UK headquarters.

When I moved to this tiny Island, I started the first real-time cable television service in Singapore for Korean and Japanese communities residing here. I had a pretty good response but I couldn’t scale the business worldwide as I had originally planned. My second venture started in 2007 when I introduced a delivery service for food and necessities for relocated expats.

I recently started my current enterprise, FGE holdings, which strives to create a healthier environment and cleaner air for people, by lowering air pollution and virus contamination.

What excites you most about your industry?
My goal is to build a hub in Singapore for my global business. I am currently producing and distributing the world’s best solutions that are effective in eliminating viruses, bacteria and alleviating air pollution.

The solutions that I am distributing are: Airocide for airborne sanitization, Airgle for air purification, NaOClean disinfectants, and a reusable and washable nano mask which could be used for up to a year.

I am also socially conscious, and because of the COVID-19 pandemic, I embarked on a donation drive to contribute 10,000 litres of disinfectant solution to vulnerable communities such as nursing homes, religious organisations, schools and hospitals in Singapore. I am very happy to be able to help these communities.

What’s your connection to Asia?
I was born in South Korea and have worked in Singapore, Korea, Japan, and other SEA countries.

Favourite city in Asia for business and why?
Singapore is my favourite because this is the place where I have derived most of my inspiration, passion, and most importantly, a spirited venture mindset. The diversity of opportunities and passionate locals, who have a drive and love for entrepreneurship, was what encouraged me to constantly try different things and look forward to the future.

What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
Aim high and never give up!

Who inspires you?
My grandfather, who started from scratch and became a well-respected and successful businessman. I believe I have inherited his passion, courage and even his sense of humour.

I’d like to include one more person who inspired me greatly, and that is Tony Buzan, the author of “The Mind Map Book.” He was my spiritual guru and his constant intellectual curiosity inspired my venture spirit. I can never forget the first time I met him on a Thames river yacht at a Christmas party in 1995. He changed my life and brought me into a whole new world.

What have you just learnt recently that blew you away?
I am constantly learning wisdom, humility and creative thinking. I gain many life lessons from friends, partners, and acquaintances.

If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
I don’t like to dwell on the past. But, if I could do things differently, I might explore becoming a global media correspondent. This has been my dream job ever since I was a little boy.

How do you unwind?
I am a free-spirited person and I don’t like to limit myself to any plans when relaxing.

Favourite Asian destination for relaxation? Why?
I like to seek safe havens in my hometown of Pohang, Korea.

I enjoy relaxing and hanging out with old pals there for a couple of days. This always energises me and keeps me moving forward.

Everyone in business should read this book:
“The Mind Map Book: Unlock Your Creativity, Boost Your Memory, Change Your Life,” by Tony Buzan. This book will guide you to maximise your brain’s potential and gain the skill of radiant thinking.

Shameless plug for your business:
I am ready to advise anyone who is looking for the perfect solution to eliminate viral infection and achieve cleaner and better air quality.
