A key focus of Branson’s post was the inauguration of the Planetary Science Pavilion at COP30. He described it as a “first-of-its-kind, COP Presidency–mandated space where independent scientists are working directly with negotiators to ensure science is at the centre of negotiations.” This initiative, co-chaired by Planetary Guardians Johan Rockström and Carlos A. According to Branson, the Pavilion represents a significant step forward. He stated:
“The Pavilion represents a landmark moment for evidence-based climate action, bringing together scientists, Indigenous Peoples leaders, and policymakers, to guide bold, collective action for the planet.”
Branson extended congratulations to the various partners involved in the Pavilion’s creation, including the Planetary Guardians, PIK – Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, Arapyaú, Future Earth, and the Rockefeller Foundation, acknowledging their “extraordinary work.”
