If “withholding the full truth” to protect someone’s safety or honor confidentiality in a way that doesn’t harm others is considered by some, then that would be the rare exception. But even in these times, honesty and integrity matter. If information needs to be withheld, it should be done carefully and with transparency, and harm should be minimized, not to create a personal advantage or to deceive.
In business, lying—by its traditional definition—erodes trust, which is the bedrock for anything meaningful in a relationship or for long-term success. Personally, while honesty may not always feel comfortable, it is the only action that aligns with my values, enabling me to stand by my decisions on both personal and professional levels.
