Each week we ask some leading questions to an entrepreneur or business owner.
Here’s some of our favourite replies to … What is your number one hack for getting yourself motivated when things seem hopeless?
“Steering clear of work definitely helps but my real hack is to get out for some sun and fresh air which basically means getting a round of golf game, run or even skipping ropes but the ultimate recovery for me will be at the beach with my “ME” time.
There are days when I don’t feel the above is enough and this is when I need to turn to friends or mentors whom I can speak to and have them guide me back on path.
You’ll be amazed how just talking helps build your motivation and confidence back again!”

“As my soul sister Lina breathed back into me in times of need, execute your purpose through inspired action, not desperate action. What’s more, I force relativity into any perception of non-advancement in my life – if I truly needed XYZ to exist within my own self-sustainability, I wouldn’t be standing & breathing as I am. I thereafter take a breather, do one of my embodiment practices that compels me to be still, recentered, & quieted. I only allow myself to act from that place of grounded energetic charge. This way, I get to be unsettled & powerful.”
Cheskine Pierre-Paul, Queer-E-O of Chesline Inc.
“As someone in the creative industry, I’ve had my fair share of artist’s block. There are days when I just don’t feel inspired or creative. Over the years, I’ve learnt how to manage this feeling better. My number one hack in dealing with this is to take a step back. Don’t try to force ideas that won’t come, and don’t beat yourself up over it. Instead, try going for a walk, listening to music or working on an unrelated project. These things help reset my mind. Sometimes, I even find the inspiration I need along the way.”

“This question came at the perfect time for me to answer. Today, I had two people quit; one that hadn’t yet started and another that was just being able to function on her own. Everything is blowing up around me but I have to stay motivated and strong as a leader. How do you do that? You dig deep for what is important and reinforce your WHY! Why do you show up every day? Why do you push through the hard stuff? This is where you find your resilience. Remember your mission! It is bigger than a difficult day.”
