The most useful skill I developed after formal education is the ability to listen carefully and think systemically. In my profession we undertake continuous professional development, so learning never truly stops. However, the most valuable growth often comes from the intersection between formal CPD and broader learning drawn from experience, leadership, and working across cultures. In complex environments, solutions rarely come from quick answers. They emerge from understanding the relationships between people, incentives, and systems, and from learning to ask better questions before rushing to conclusions.
