When I was aged seven my parents got separated and a few years later divorced. Although much more common these days, it seemed like I was the only. I felt alone. It was a confusing and challenging time. As a result, I am now very aware of the people around me and I notice when someone is alone in a crowd. I will introduce myself and check in with them. This approach to life has opened me to wonderful opportunities. You never know who you will meet when you look around and connect with someone new.
