That software is only one of three things. Any real problem sits on a triangle of process, people and systems — and a system only delivers what you hoped for if the other two hold. If the underlying process is broken, all we do is make the breakage faster. If nobody is equipped to run that process, the best tool in the world sits unused. Buying software is the easiest of the three to arrange, which is exactly why it gets chosen first. I would rather have that conversation before the demo than eighteen months after the contract.
